Attacking Principle: Driving onto the Ball

Sometimes the overhead aerial pass is not the best option for your players and it can put you at risk of an easy interception for the opposition. Mix it up this week by developing your team?s attacking capabilities, looking at driving onto the ball to ensure that they lose their marker, ready to go forward in attack!

With a number of challenging exercises, work on the different skills that your players need to improve their attack, such as changing direction and pace. Get your players thinking about creating space for their team-mates on court, using exercises such as Drive and Receive, losing their marker to receive the ball to drive forward. It?s important that your players communicate with one another and have their head up, ready to receive the pass.

Improve your attack and drive onto the ball!
