With the season fast approaching, pre-season training should be top of your agenda. Whilst stick and ball training sessions need to be begun, so do separate fitness sessions to improve cardiovascular and muscular fitness.
Before any team training your players should ideally do a few sessions on their own and these tests will help guide them.
The aim of the pre-season training is to build up your aerobic endurance - improving your fitness level. Match fitness will only come with matchplay. However a carefully constructed pre-season training session will stand you in good stead for the first match, be it a league game or, ideally, a friendly.
